Outreach & Celebration Sunday

Moving to Two Services
On Sunday September 7, we will move to two services. Our 9am service will have full children’s programming and nursery, and our 11am service will have nursery only for ages 0-3.
There will be a time of fellowship between the services.

Fallow July
This summer, we are leaning into a new practice of embodying a season of sabbath rest for our whole community. For the month of July, we will be simplifying things on Sunday mornings so that almost no volunteers are needed. We are calling it Fallow July.
Here are a few things that will look different:
Kids age 3 and older will stay in the sanctuary for the whole worship service with their families
We know this means more noises and wiggles, and we'll adapt our services to include songs which are easy for kids to sing, help them follow along in the sermon, and encourage doodling and quiet handheld items that can help keep bodies active while engaged in listening.
Our hospitality team will be taking a break
If hot coffee and snacks are important to your Sunday morning experience, you'll probably want to bring something from home. We'll have cold-brew on hand, but no extra snacks.
Tithes & Offerings
If you're excited to give a tithe or offering, you can do that in the basket at the back of the sanctuary where it will be sitting on the table instead of it being passed through the rows during worship.
TV Screens & Live-stream
We'll be using our TV screens minimally. All of our normal liturgy and songs will be in a printed worship guide.
If you're traveling and want to participate in our live-stream at some point in July. you'll notice that the camera will also be resting from its normal movements, but you'll still be able to see and hear worship.
To lie fallow may look like nothing is happening. But beneath the surface, a fallow field is doing holy work: restoring nutrients, rebuilding soil, preparing for the next harvest. We trust the Lord to fill our congregation with excitement and capacity for further ministry after this short season of rest.

Vacation Bible School
Our VBS theme this year is based on the book, “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” by beloved Christian Author, C.S. Lewis. Talking beasts, an evil queen, and the fearsome good and rightful King of Narnia - a lion named Aslan, will bring to light the truth of Colossians 1:13-14:
"For God has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness, and brought us into the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins."
All kids in Kindergarten through 5th grade per the 2024/2025 school year are welcome! Childcare for ages Infant to Pre-K will be provided for our VBS Volunteers exclusively.
Please contact Shanti Puccini with any questions!

Prayer and Healing Service
Join us on the evening of May 4 at 7:00pm for a prayer and healing service. As a 3-stream Anglican church, we know and accept the reality of God’s active presence and healing in our world today; this is a work of the Holy Spirit. We are continuing to press into this theology and this practice of expectant prayer for God to bring the kind of restoration and healing that typifies the Kingdom of God which Christ ushered in, and was given to the Apostles and the Church (even us!) to continue bringing to fruition, in accordance with God’s holy will.
Join us as we set aside time to pray for a variety of needs, and ask for God’s healing among us. Reach out to Robert+ Balfour with any questions.
