Meet the 2026 Leadership Team Candidates
We’re grateful for the members of our Grace family who have been recommended to serve on the 2026 Leadership Team. Each person below has been contacted, prayerfully considered, and has expressed a willingness to continue in the process.
We invite you to take some time to get to know these candidates through their photos and bios. As you learn more about each person, we encourage you to pray for them and for our parish as we discern together who God is calling to serve in this role.

Voting Details
Voting is open to Members of Grace Northridge starting September 13 at 12:00 PM through September 22 at 12:00 PM. We will be sending out a separate email to all Members of Grace when voting opens with a link to the online ballot.
A Planning Center account is required to vote. Contact us if you need help creating an account.
Election results will be announced in church on September 27.
Need help voting? Debbie Fillyaw and Pastor Robert will be available in the Gathering Hall after each service on September 20.
The Candidates
Nick Gamiz
My family and I have lived in San Antonio for nine years. Here I wrapped up my 22-year Navy career and we’ve set down roots. Danielle and I are parents to Liliana (21) Calvin (19), Henry (16), and Max (11).
We spent years searching for the right church, never really finding a place that felt like home until we visited Grace three years ago. The warm welcome we received had us signing up for membership, plunging into the community, and baptizing our three boys pretty much as soon as we arrived. We are grateful to be here.
Serving as a Sunday Captain this past year has shown me how much love and how many hands go into a single Sunday morning. I enjoy engaging with other parishioners and thrive on solid organization–gifts I know God would like me to share in a deeper way at Grace. Thank you for considering me for a position on the board!
Robin Laine
Robin is originally from Austin and has lived in San Antonio since 2015. She is the CEO and Co-founder of Transect, an energy and infrastructure development software platform. Before founding Transect, she led a national team of environmental consultants. Robin has served on the boards of several nonprofits, including Isaiah 55 in Reynosa, Mexico, where she currently serves as board chair, For Her here in San Antonio, and Turnip Ensemble Theater.
Robin and her husband, Sam, began attending Grace in 2019. They have a three-year-old daughter, Tally. Robin first began serving at Grace on the tech team and continues to serve regularly, while also participating in women’s events, supporting staffing initiatives, and co-leading a community group.
What Robin loves most about Grace is that it’s a safe place to explore faith, ask honest questions, and build meaningful relationships. She is grateful for the many ways people at Grace use their gifts to serve one another and the broader community, and she is excited to see how God continues to grow and shape our church.
Mark Schnur
I am grateful to be nominated to serve on the Grace Northridge Leadership Team. My wife Donna and I have been attending Grace since 2019, and we previously attended Community Bible Church. I like Grace because it is in our neighborhood and feels like my original church in Indiana, and for the many friends we have come to know. I was raised in a Lutheran home and attended a Lutheran school for the first eight years of my education. I am active in the Men’s Ministry and often serve as a Sunday Captain.
I have served with the City of San Antonio and the San Antonio Water System for the past 25 years. I have extensive experience in desktop and enterprise software, capital project development and budgeting, project management, and regulatory enforcement. I earned a Master’s Degree in Environmental Science at UTSA. I am a retired Army officer, and I deployed to Afghanistan in 2003 for almost one year. Donna and I have been married for almost 27 years.
